It has been wicked frigid this month, but that doesn't mean you can safely walk onto lakes, ponds, rivers and other bodies of water.
Public safety officials are warning the public about the dangers of thin ice, as first responders on Sunday rescued a man who fell through ice at a local pond.
Arlington Police and Fire at around 11:30 a.m. responded to a report of a person who had fallen through the ice at Spy Pond. First responders were able to conduct a shoreline rescue using a lifeline.
