House Democrats are forging ahead with a resolution to strip freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments, rejecting a last-minute pitch from GOP leadership to call off the vote if Republicans agreed to an alternative form of punishment.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy sought a commitment from House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer during a Wednesday call to yank the resolution from the floor if Republicans agreed to move Greene from the House Education and Labor Committee to another panel.
