The number of cities and towns at high risk for coronavirus transmission fell sharply this week as state and local leaders said cases and hospitalizations continue to show encouraging trends.
There are 153 cities and towns in the “red” zone this week, according to the state Department of Public Health, a sizable drop from the 192 communities listed as high risk last week. It's also a significant decline from the peak of 229 in January - nearly two-thirds of municipalities in the state.
