Worcester will be opening a coronavirus mass vax site in mid-February, city officials announced on Thursday as the state ramps up its vaccination rollout and fills the need for a central Massachusetts location.
The mass vax site will be at Worcester State University, and will be in partnership with Saint Vincent Hospital and UMass Medical School.
“Today it's a wonderful occasion. It's a happy occasion,” said Worcester Mayor Joseph Petty at a Thursday press conference when announcing the site at Worcester State University.
