Despite Opposition from Carlos Giménez and María Elvira Salazar, Florida Receives $1 Billion for Everglades Preservation

Salazar and Gimenez, who represents Everglades National Park, both shamelessly voted against these local funds
On Wednesday, the White House and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced plans to invest $1.1 billion for restoring and preserving the Everglades, thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Plan which Carlos Gimenez and Maria Elvira Salazar both voted against.
The funds represent “the single largest investment in the Everglades in history” and “aim to increase the ecosystem's resilience against climate change.”
