Brett Baty homers in first career at-bat, Mets hold on to beat the Braves 9-7

ATLANTA - Brett Baty is officially the new kid in the Mets' clubhouse.
The 22-year-old, wearing a jersey number that matches his age, stood in a small room in the lower level of Truist Park before Wednesday's game and explained his transformation from minor leaguer to starting third baseman for the New York Mets.
“I got the call yesterday, got on a flight and got here last night,” Baty said. “I'm just super excited to get out there and start playing.”
He immediately went out there and contributed to a 9-7 Mets' win.
