'Throwback Thursday' remembers the Bears' last championship parade 36 years ago today

CHICAGO - If the Bears new general manager and head coach want to see what their main goal is, tell them to take a look back in time to exactly 36 years ago on Thursday.
Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus will get an idea of just how much a Super Bowl title would mean to a city, because the fans showed that on January 27, 1986.
That's when the City of Chicago held a parade for the World Champions downtown less than 24 hours after they crushed the Patriots 46-10 in New Orleans to end their 22-year title drought.

Matt Eberflus is the 17th head coach of the Chicago Bears.
In his first move as Bears general manager, Ryan Poles on Thursday hired Eberflus from a group of finalists that included Dan Quinn and Jim Caldwell.
Eberflus, 51, was the Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator the last four seasons. He replaces Matt Nagy, who along with GM Ryan Pace was fired Jan. 10 after a 6-11 finish in 2021 and 34-31 record in four seasons in Nagy's first stint as an NFL head coach.
