Massachusetts State Police trooper shot on the Cape remains in hospital, investigation continues

The Massachusetts State Police trooper who was shot on the Cape during a traffic stop on Friday remained hospitalized on Sunday, while authorities continued to work on tracking down the suspect.
The 28-year-old trooper was still getting treated at Massachusetts General Hospital after suffering a serious gunshot wound to his right hand, State Police said.
The round went through his hand and then appeared to have struck his ballistic vest in his shoulder.
The investigation into the identity of the suspect or suspects who shot him is ongoing, state police said.
