The MSPCA's Nevins Farm in Methuen is now home to 18 rescued horses.
An animal cruelty investigation out of Alford remains open, but the animals are now being cared for in trailers on the farm.
“Before the horses even arrived... we had spent some $20,000 on supplies and equipment needed for all the animals in our care. We're in urgent need of donations,” said Mike Keiley, director of adoption centers and programs at the MSPCA-Angell.
Anyone who wishes to donate can do so at mspca.org/alford.
