Massachusetts coronavirus cases up 1,629, highest since May

Public health officials reported 1,629 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday - a spike in new infections that represents the highest number in a single day since mid-May.
The 1,629 new cases represent a new high since the spring, surpassing the previous high of 1,488 reported last week. It follows two days of lower case counts, with 923 on Tuesday and 725 on Monday.
