Arrest made in murder of woman in Lowell's Highlands neighborhood

LOWELL - Authorities announced the arrest of a 22-year-old Lowell man who they say stabbed his 64-year-old grandaunt to death inside her home on Loring Street the night of July 31.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Interim Lowell Police Superintendent Barry Golner revealed in a press release that Rashawn Settles was arrested for the brutal murder on Saturday, without incident, at Lowell General Hospital's Saints Campus, where he had been held civilly since Aug. 1.
