Immigrant license law opponents push Republican candidates despite campaign laws

Question 4, asking voters to overturn the law allowing illegal immigrants access to driver's licenses, has become a political hot potato.
Republican candidates listed as supporting the measure have the state office responsible for enforcing campaign finance law working overtime.
“I can only speak in general about the campaign finance law, not this specific situation,” the Office of Campaign and Political Finance's spokesperson, Jason Tait, said. “Ballot question committees may not support or oppose candidates.”
