An emotional Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday that he would not step down in the face of multiple accusations of sexual harassment.
“I am not going to resign,” Cuomo said in his first public appearance since the accusations surfaced last week. The bulk of his briefing was devoted to an update on Covid-19 in the state.
Reporters who questioned him via Zoom did not ask if he still plans to run for a fourth term next year.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo delivered a coronavirus briefing on Wednesday afternoon, marking his first public appearance in eight days - a period during which two more women came forward alleging that he had made inappropriate sexual advances toward them.
"I feel terrible that these people felt... uncomfortable by the interactions," Cuomo said. "I'm embarrassed by it.... I didn't know I was making her uncomfortable at the time, I feel badly that I did and I'm going to learn from it.... My usual custom is to kiss and hug and make that gesture. I understand that sensitivities have changed."

ALBANY, N.Y. - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is slated to hold his first news conference Wednesday following sexual harassment allegations that have led some members of his own party to call for his resignation.
