Mets, Brandon Nimmo agree to 8-year, $162 million contract

A day after Winter Meetings came to a close, Mets general manager Billy Eppler locks up his starting center fielder to a long-term deal.
Brandon Nimmo and the New York Mets are in agreement on an eight-year, $162 million contract, according to reports. The deal locks up Nimmo through the 2030 season and carries an AAV of $20.25 million.
The Mets are also signing veteran reliever David Robertson to a one-year, $10 million deal.
The deals come on the heels of Eppler telling reporters that he plans to “stay working” after securing four pitchers during Winter Meetings - including World Series...

Brandon Nimmo and the New York Mets are in agreement on an eight-year, $162 million contract, according to reports. The deal locks up Nimmo through the 2030 season and carries an AAV of $20.25 million.
The deal comes on the heels of Eppler telling reporters that he plans to “stay working” after securing four pitchers - including World Series Champion Justin Verlander - to bolster roster depth.
