Patriots recall fond memories of Jimmy Garoppolo

Four years ago, the Patriots got their first taste of life without Tom Brady.
Former backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo started the team's 2016 season opener at Arizona, while Brady began serving a four-game suspension. Garoppolo was entering his third year, but had never started a game before. Pats safety Devin McCourty remembers answering question after question before the game about whether he was confident in young Jimmy G.
As Garoppolo would later prove, by leading the Pats to an upset win, there was never anything to worry about.
“One of the biggest things I got to see here was just his poise. You can tell,” McCourty said. “You get a young guy, and you've got to go in and fill in for Tom Brady, who's 4-game suspension. comes in and we're in Arizona, Week 1, and he doesn't really blink. He's just out there going, playing, and I think when you watch him now, that doesn't change.”
